University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, USA - 1 Neuropsychology Psychology Post-doctoral Fellowship

Department of Health Psychology The Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri (MU) is seeking an individual to fill a clinical post-doctoral fellowship position beginning in the Summer of 2012. The post-doctoral fellowship is a one-year position, with the possibility of extending to a second year. Qualified candidates will have a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent from an APA-approved program, and will have completed internship training offering experience in clinical neuropsychology.

The fellowship will emphasize clinical training in adult neuropsychology. Participation in research and other scholarly activity is encouraged. In addition to structured didactics within the Department, fellows have the opportunity to participate didactic activities in affiliated sites (e.g., University of Missouri Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium). The MU Department of Health Psychology provides services to adults and children within University of Missouri Health Care. The Adult Neuropsychology Clinic, housed in the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, is the primary clinical setting for this post-doctoral fellowship. The Clinic provides assessment services for individuals with a wide range of medical issues, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, neurologic illness, and psychiatric issues. In addition to the outpatient clinic, neuropsychological assessment experience is provided through services for inpatients at an acute rehabilitation facility affiliated with MU (Rusk Rehabilitation Center) and University of Missouri Hospital. Neuropsychology fellows have opportunities to provide services in rural central Missouri, including rural hospitals and state vocational rehabilitation programs.

Fellows participate in weekly didactic presentations that follow APA Division 40 training guidelines. They attend bi-monthly grand rounds with national experts, and bi-monthly journal clubs. Fellows are provided with high-quality formal and informal supervision. Faculty within MU Department of Health Psychology are highly accessible, and a majority are board certified in neuropsychology and/or rehabilitation psychology. This position has an annual full-time salary of $33,000. Health benefits, twenty days of vacation, two weeks for professional development and paid holidays are also included.
