University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA - Two postdoctoral fellow positions

Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at The University of Georgia’s University Health Center.

Admission requirements include completion of all professional degree requirements from an APA/CPA accredited program. The Fellow must have received a diploma before the first day of the fellowship or have a letter from Director of graduate studies verifying that all degree requirements have been met. Previous counseling center experience is preferred.

These positions are designed for individuals who are interested in meeting the requirements for licensure in the State of Georgia and working in a multi-disciplinary university health center with a focus on clinical service to students. Responsibilities include providing individual (short-term) and group psychotherapy, walk-in and brief evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, and referral to appropriate resources, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and after-hours on-call service. The one year fellowship will begin on September 1, 2012.

The postdoctoral program meets all requirements for licensure in the state of Georgia, is designed to provide 2000 hours of supervised work within 12 months, and includes a minimum of 500 direct contact hours. The stipend for the 2012-2013 postdoctoral fellowships is $34, 000. Fellows are also eligible for staff benefits which include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, professional development/licensing preparation time (one week per semester), exercise facilities, and library privileges. Funds ($250) are also available for workshop fees. Applications should include: 1.
