The Department of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in geriatric neuropsychology. The training emphasis is primarily research, but supervised clinical opportunities will also be available. The fellow will be responsible for coordinating aspects of research projects that seek to understand predictors of dementia and cognitive decline in community-dwelling older adults participating in the Einstein Aging Study, an NIH-funded program project grant. Research topics include stress and pain as risk factors for cognitive decline, neuroimaging markers of cognitive decline, and intensive measurement (repeated daily assessments) of cortisol and cognitive change among older adults. The fellow will be strongly encouraged to write empirical manuscripts using existing data and submit grant applications to pursue lines of thematically-related research. In addition, the fellow will attend weekly didactics that include case conferences and departmental grand rounds. Our department provides a rich interdisciplinary environment with opportunities for collaboration with faculty across disciplines.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related specialty. Data analytic statistical skills are preferred. Appointments are initially for one year; second year appointments are negotiated between the fellow and supervisor. Competitive stipends and benefits are provided. Application review begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Send curriculum vitae, cover letter, list of references, and a sample of scholarly writing activities to Molly Zimmerman, Ph.D. at molly.zimmerman@einstein.yu.edu.
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and actively solicits applications from women and minorities.
