Postdoctoral Residency Positions Stratton VA Medical Center Albany, NY The Stratton VA in Albany, NY announces two fulltime one year postdoctoral residencies in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in PTSD. Residents will develop advanced competencies in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of PTSD. Residents will have the opportunity to deliver empirically supported treatments across a variety of modalities including individual, couples, and group psychotherapy. There is also an emphasis on the neuropsychology of PTSD and evaluation of traumatic brain injuries. Training is broad based and integrative and allows for work in a variety of elective settings such as inpatient psychiatry, psychiatric rehabilitation, medical rehabilitation and chemical dependency. Other required elements of the program include supervision of interns and graduate students, completion of a scholarly project, and regular didactic seminars.
Salary is approximately $43,283 in addition to a generous federal benefits package including paid vacation, health insurance, and federal holidays. In addition, authorized absence of up to 40 hours per year is provided for attendance or participation in conferences and applying for VA jobs. Applicants must have completed an APA accredited program in clinical or counseling psychology. Applicants must have completed all requirements for their doctorate prior to the start of the training year including an APA-accredited internship. Application deadline is January 13th, 2012, and positions commence September 1st 2012.
