The Eastern Virginia Medical School is now accepting applications for its post-doctoral fellowship in integrated primary care psychology. This position is funded by a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) grant and allows the postdoctoral fellow to obtain training in inpatient and outpatient family medicine settings, both at an academic medical center and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
This one-year training program in Norfolk, Virginia is designed to prepare fellows to develop competencies in the interdisciplinary context of primary care, provision of consultation to medical providers, clinical service delivery of psychological and behavioral health treatments with primary care patients and supervision of psychology graduate students and interns working in integrated care. The fellowship also provides one day a week for research or other professional development activities.
The training year will begin on or about August 1, 2012. Prior to beginning the fellowship, applicants must have completed an American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited clinical psychology internship program and received a doctoral degree in clinical from an APA or CPA accredited program. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
