Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, USA - 1 Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The Department of Psychiatry at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is recruiting one Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellow beginning July 1, 2012. The position is oriented toward a generalist training model during the first year with an optional specialty in either child or adult neuropsychology during the second year.

The position is designed to meet Houston Guidelines along with Board Certification recommendations for post-doctoral training. The main focus of the post-doctoral fellowship involves outpatient neuropsychological evaluations of diverse populations. The referral base includes pediatricians, psychiatrists, geriatricians, neurosurgeons, neurologists, psychologists, and internists. The age range of referrals is from approximately four years old to centurions.

There is also the opportunity for inpatient evaluations of patients with various medical problems, including traumatic brain injury, stroke and dementia. The Fellows also have the opportunity to assist in the completion of Independent Medical Evaluations. The position involves tiered supervision of APA Clinical Interns, graduate students, and undergraduate students, as well as participation in regular didactic opportunities within neuropsychology and general psychiatry. Involvement in external or internal research projects is expected. The Fellow will also carry a small caseload of outpatient psychotherapy patients in their area of interest. Primary neuropsychology supervisors are Michael Franzen, Ph.D., Glen Getz, Ph.D and Hannah Schofield, Ph.D. There are a variety of possible therapy supervisors within general outpatient and the Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents.

The annual salary is $35,000 plus benefits, professional funds and free parking. The Fellows receive vacation and sick days as well as professional days for conference attendance. Qualified applicants should have significant clinical experience and course work in neuropsychology. Applicants will have completed APA/CPA accredited Psychology Internship as well as successfully defended their dissertation by June 30, 2012.
