Applicants must have assessment and training background with autism and other developmental disabilities as well as experience treating neuro-typical clients with behavioral challenges. Specifically, applicant must have training in and experience administering the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule). Resident will work within a team of professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, behavior analysts, and other allied health professionals. Although the primary role of the resident will be to conduct psychological evaluations, resident will also be provided with opportunities to provide treatment to children and their families. Our clinic emphasizes a behavioral approach to assessment and treatment, with a focus on identifying and altering the environmental variables that motivate and maintain behavior. Cognitive-behavioral therapy and social skills training are often incorporated into treatment as well.
Training opportunities include: Psychological and psychoeducational assessment (IQ, achievement, behavior, neuropsychological, Autism) Consultation with various professionals in the community, including physicians, speech and occupational therapists School consultations and IEP support Applied Behavior Analysis Family and individual therapy Caregiver training and support Various home-based services Social skills groups Opportunities to work and consult with staff and students at The Keystone Academy (A department of Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics).
Resident should have obtained their Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or School Psychology from an APA accredited program and completed an internship prior to the start date of August 29, 2011.
