ACT Clinical Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship- Seattle, WA
We are currently accepting applications for a clinical/research fellowship in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for the 2011-2012 training year. This one-year postdoctoral fellowship will begin in August or September of 2011 and be based at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), Seattle Campus. The fellow will spend approximately 60% time providing clinical services and 40% time on research activities. She/he will receive two hours per week of clinical supervision in ACT, treatment of Veterans, PTSD, and substance abuse. Clinical duties will include serving as a study therapist using both ACT and present centered therapy (PCT) for distress and impairment in veterans recently returning from operation in Iraq and Afghanistan, and as a therapist in the Evaluation and Brief Treatment PTSD Unit at the VAPSHCS, Seattle Campus. Research duties will include assisting the PI in study coordination and management, participation in grant writing and manuscript preparation, and development of an independent research project.
The ideal candidate will have clinical training in ACT, behavior therapy, or other third wave approaches, an interest in research, and have demonstrated potential in both areas. Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Salary is competitive and includes benefits.
