Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy. Pennsylvania Counseling Services has two openings for a 12 month post-doc residency in clinical psychology beginning this Summer/Fall 2012 in our Family Based Child Services program, which is rich in training and excellent experience in systems therapy, utilizing the Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model.
ESFT is an integrative modality informed by a synthesis of accepted theory and research findings derived four major fields of study – ecosystemic psychology, attachment theory, developmental theory, and traumatology. Post-doc residents will fine tune a host of clinical interventions (e.g. family therapy) as well as parent education, case management/service coordination and family support.
Trainings in ESFT are coordinated under the auspices of The Center for Family Based Training, directed by Dr. Wayne Jones, Ph.D. There will additionally be an Outpatient component of about one day in order to round out the clinical experiences of the post-doc.
The applying candidate must have graduated from an AASB designated or APA accredited doctoral program and must have completed a pre-doctoral internship program prior to the start of this internship. This is an hourly paid internship at $33,000/year minimum compensation, with opportunity to earn $37,000 or more, with paid single coverage health insurance, and paid time off benefits (vacation and holidays). The candidate will be expected to function as an independent practitioner and to build and expand upon his/her existing clinical skill sets.
