The NYC Police Department, New York, NY, USA - 1 psychologist position


The NYC Police Department is seeking psychologists for full-time assessment positions in the unique and exciting field of Police Psychology. Although this is not a post-doctoral training program, supervision is provided which can be counted towards licensure requirements in NY. The successful applicant will learn to apply clinical skills in the area of forensic evaluation of a population engaged in vital work. Starting salary is $54,079 (increases to $62,191 after two years) with paid vacation, sick leave, health benefits, etc. Extra compensation if NYS Psychology License (approx $4300).

Duties: Psychological assessment of candidates for various positions within the Police Department, e.g., police officer; possible emergency assessment of current employees

Minimum Requirements: A doctorate in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, plus equivalent of two years of full time experience gained after admission to the accredited graduate (doctoral) program. Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program is highly desirable. (Applicants who are at the ABD level will be considered.)
