Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston's Texas Medical Center), 1 postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral health psychology
POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS MD ANDERSON CANCER CENTER, DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow in the area of behavioral health psychology for involvement in ongoing clinical research studies and patient care activities with cancer patients undergoing reconstructive surgery. The behavioral psychology fellow will serve on a project team with faculty and staff from the Department of Behavioral Science as well as from the Department of Plastic Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center. All projects and activities will be part of the Body Image Research and Therapy Program and will incorporate behavioral health outcomes and involve the delivery of behavioral health interventions.
In this position, behavioral psychology fellows will be expected to foster their own clinical and/or clinical research careers by delivering psychological interventions in the Body image Research and Therapy Program under the supervision of a mentor who is a licensed psychologist in Texas. Interventions may include cognitive behavioral approaches, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness/acceptance-based approaches. Fellows will be expected to combine clinical and research training and will be encouraged to pursue independent funding for their research career.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. The NYC Police Department is seeking psychologists for full-time assessment positions in the unique and exciting field of Police Psychology. Although this is not a post-doctoral training program, supervision is provided which can be counted towards licensure requirements in NY. Our Children’s House at Baylor (OCH), Dallas, Texas, invites applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology. The fellow would have the opportunity to work with children in a pediatric specialty hospital. This 35-bed facility admits children and adolescents (birth to 18) into one of several programs including acute rehabilitation (head injury, spinal cord injury, tumors, strokes, etc), sub-acute (coma monitoring and training of parents), ventilator care, palliative care, and feeding disorders. The fellow would work as part of an interdisciplinary team both with inpatients and outpatients. Inpatient responsibilities would include assessment and development of treatment plans, cognitive rehabilitation, monitoring of coma status, parent education and support. On the outpatient side, the fellow would administer comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and be part of the Cognitive Day Neuro Rehabilitation Program. A familiarity in developmental psychology is encouraged. Research opportunities would also be available.

Areas of specialization may include assessment of risk (including suicide risk, violence risk, and risk of sexual violence), neuropsychological assessment, and behavioral assessment. - Fellows may join our consultative service, which provides behavioral consultation to treatment units. Fellows employ functional analysis and learn various assessments to consult on and treat patients with target problems such as severe self-injurious behavior or sexually offending behaviors.
- Fellows may assume participant or lead roles in current research protocols, may conduct independent research, and may present findings at professional conferences and in staff trainings.
