Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, NY, USA - 1 Post-Doctoral Fellowship in clinical child and adolescent neuropsychology Center for Attention and Learning

Lenox Hill Hospital is accepting applications for two post-doctoral fellowships beginning in September 2013. These are two-year, full-time positions that are based at the Center for Attention and Learning (CAL), which is part of the Child/Adolescent Section of Psychiatry, and located within the Outpatient Center for Mental Health. The Outpatient Center is staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse-practitioners and students. The mission of CAL is to provide expert neuropsychological evaluations of low-income school-aged children with learning, attention, and related disorders. CAL has recently been the recipient of a Robin Hood Foundation grant, which has allowed us to expand our reach. Also, Lenox Hill Hospital is now part of the North Shore-LIJ Healthcare system.

The two-year program will focus on neuropsychological assessment of children with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other related developmental disorders. Fellows will receive extensive training in neuropsychological assessment, as well as training in advocacy to learn how to intervene within the school system and help obtain the best support for our patients. Advocacy training is partly provided though a formal partnership with Advocates for Children, a premier educational law agency in NY. Fellows are encouraged to attend Psychiatry and Neurology Ground Rounds, and will be expected to participate in a weekly case conference. Individual supervision will be provided on a regularly scheduled basis.

The Lenox Hill Hospital Department of Psychiatry has had an active training program in Psychiatry and Psychology. Psychology training has been conducted continuously since 1980, at the start of our first externship. In addition to the students who participate in our APA-approved internship, the department has six externs. Two of the externs are part of CAL. The CAL staff includes three staff psychologists, four post-doctoral neuropsychology fellows, and a social worker. Private practice, Dallas, Texas, USA - 1 postdoctoral fellowship

Position Description: This one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Private Practice is intended to provide the postdoctoral fellow with a coordinated opportunity for direct clinical service (intake assessment, treatment planning, intervention), regular professional supervision, and ongoing professional development activities (both designated and self-directed). The postdoctoral fellow will receive clinical opportunities and supervision enabling him/her to gain expertise in practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with children and adolescents with Anxiety Spectrum Disorders. Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow will receive comprehensive instruction/supervision in individual and group-based Parent Consultation, to address behavioral issues related to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other psychiatric disorders.

Practice Description: Therapy Dallas (www.therapydallas.com) is a group practice offering coordinated and comprehensive psychological services for children, adolescents, and adults in the Dallas area. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Kristen M. Ohlenforst, PhD, and alongside licensed clinicians providing individual psychotherapy, didactic group therapy, parent consultation, and play therapy.

Compensation: The accepted applicant for this full-time position will become a salaried employee of Therapy Dallas. Compensation will be discussed at the time of interview, and will be commensurate with national, competitive postdoctoral fellowships.

Start date: Late August to Early September 2013 (exact date to be negotiated).
