Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC - Clinical associate postdoctoral position in clinical psychology

Duke University Medical Center's Cognitive Behavioral Research and Treatment Program is offering a clinical associate postdoctoral position in clinical psychology.

The postdoctoral position is a full-time position. Clinical Associates are expected to work 40-hours per week and will get at least 2 hours of supervision per week by a licensed psychologist. The Clinical Associate will learn to use empirically supported treatments in a fluid and dynamic manner to treat a wide variety of primarily Axis I disorders. In addition, the Clinical Associate will be expected to become competent in Motivational Interviewing and will learn to use MI effectively in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy.

The position will involve primarily individual therapy, however, there will also be opportunities to engage in adult substance use treatment groups or to create a new group, in addition to potential opportunities to supervise psychiatric residents, interns, and practicum students. Further, Duke University has many possibilities for intellectual enrichment via lectures, weekly grand rounds, and other continuing education opportunities.

Stipend will be $43,000 for the first year and $46,000 for the second year, plus a generous benefit package. The position begins July 1st, however, the start date is flexible.

Qualifications:
• PhD or PsyD degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical psychology.
• Successful completion of APA-accredited internship program.

The Massachusetts Treatment Center, Bridgewater, MA, U.S.A. - 1 postdoctoral fellowship

The Massachusetts Treatment Center is a medium-security prison located within the Bridgewater Correctional Complex and is a unique facility due to having a population of civilly committed Sexually Dangerous Persons as well as state prison inmates identified as sexual offenders. Each population is located within separate areas of the facility.

The MTC Fellowship is a 1-year, full-time position. Fellows are required to work 40 hours per week and will be provided with at least 2.5 hours of supervision per week by licensed psychologists. By the end of the fellowship year, fellows will have completed 2,000 training hours. Depending on the track selected by the fellow, as well as the fellow’s clinical interests, the fellow will be involved in the direct provision of forensic/correctional psychological services for 25% to 45% of the fellow’s training hours. Fellows will also attend two weekly didactic seminars. The forensic seminar is dedicated to relevant case law and legal statutes.

Anxiety and Mood Disorders Center, The Child Mind Institute, New York, NY - 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Child Mind Institute is seeking a full-time clinical post-doctoral fellow within our Anxiety and Mood Disorders Center. The candidate should possess exceptional clinical skills in the assessment of children and adolescents who have anxiety and mood disorders. The fellow should have significant cognitive and behavioral therapy training and/or dialectical behavior therapy training. The fellow is expected to perform semi-structured clinical assessments, provide treatment to children and adolescents, provide parental support via psycho-education and parent training and participate in multidisciplinary team case conferences.

Fellowship training focuses on the accurate diagnosis and use of evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and their families, with experiences including clinical work, didactics, and exposure to research.

Clinical Opportunities:  The Anxiety and Mood Disorders Center offers an extraordinary opportunity for a qualified clinician to receive structured post-doctoral training in a unique, innovative academic setting. Fellows will have the opportunity to perform our distinctive, structured and comprehensive initial evaluations to establish accurate diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment plans. Evaluations include the use of semi-structured interviews and clinical and behavioral rating scales for children, parents and teachers. Additionally, the post doctoral fellow will carry a full caseload of patients and gain experience with a variety of disorders including OCD, separation anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social phobia, specific phobias, and other pediatric conditions. Fellows will participate in Fearless Friends, our innovative intensive treatment camp for children with phobias and/or OCD. Treatment methods employed during this fellowship include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) and other innovative, evidenced-based approaches to therapy. The fellow will have access to a Senior Psychologist on staff for regular case supervision and feedback sessions.

Didactics: As a component of the training experience, the post-doctoral fellow will also participate in a variety of learning experiences at the Child Mind Institute. Specifically, fellows will attend a weekly multidisciplinary case conference, as well as clinical meetings with center staff. Fellows will also be given the opportunity to supervise externs and volunteers and give presentations at schools and local community organizations. Additionally, there will also be opportunities to collaborate with website writers on specific topics for the Child Mind Institute website and with other services within the Child Mind Institute. Training is available in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Brave Buddies, an intensive behavior treatment for Selective Mutism, reading or writing remediation and CogMed working memory training.

The candidate should possess exceptional clinical skills in the assessment of children and adolescents with anxiety disorders and selective mutism (SM). The fellow must have significant cognitive and behavioral therapy training. The fellow is expected to perform diagnostic evaluations, provide treatment to children and adolescents, provide parental support via psycho-education and parent training and participate in multidisciplinary team case conferences. The Fellow join a thriving team of 23 full-time clinicians and three other Post-Doctoral Fellows representing a wide variety of clinical and academic interests in meeting the Institute’s mission, which includes public advocacy. Fellows will engage in public speaking, writing, and are strongly encouraged to submit presentations to national professional conferences.
