The Albany Medical College (Albany Medical Center), Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time, one year, Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology. The fellowship is designed to prepare Fellows to function as capable professional psychologists assuming multiple roles within an academic psychiatry department or other practice based academic institution.
The position offers extensive supervised experience in a number of clinical, research, academic, teaching, and supervisory roles. Fellows are highly encouraged to develop and conduct projects of personal interest and/or value for the department and are also actively involved in ongoing grant funded departmental training and research initiatives. Current projects involve a range of activities, including: program development, consultation and collaboration within and across departments/services in the areas of clinical assessment, medical training, complex dual diagnosis treatment, genetics, bariatrics and metabolic disorders. This research training typically includes opportunities for authorship and conference presentations. One of our post-doctoral fellows assumes at least half-time responsibilities in a consulting and clinical role with our affiliated eating disorders program. Fellows are provided ample clinical training and supervision leading to competency for independent practice and preparation for licensure.
Fellows are expected to possess the capacity for collaboration as well as independent self-directed academic work. We desire Fellows with excellent interpersonal skills and strong clinical, research, and writing abilities.
The Fellowship is a full time, year-long program with a salary of $40,000, full health benefits and scheduled vacation. The program accepts three (3) Fellows per year. The training year begins September 1st and ends August 31st. The program is coordinated by the Director of Training, Robert Hubbell, PsyD, and the Department Chair, Victoria Balkoski, MD.

University of Missouri – St. Louis, MO, USA - 4 Postdoctoral Fellowships in Clinical Psychology
The Community Psychological Service (CPS) at the University of Missouri- St. Louis invites applications for a full-time, one-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology. The fellowship program provides advanced training in psychological assessment and psychotherapy services and prepares fellows for professional practice in an outpatient setting. Setting: The Community Psychological Service (CPS) is a not-for-profit outpatient mental health clinic established at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1977. CPS clinicians provide affordable psychological services to clients from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds in Metropolitan St. Louis and its surrounding areas. Most services are provided through grant funding, Medicaid, or on a sliding-scale fee basis.
Program Description: Postdoctoral fellows at CPS conduct a wide variety of assessments and provide outpatient therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults under the supervision of staff psychologists. Assessments include comprehensive personality evaluations of adults and children with severe emotional disturbances, forensic parenting competency evaluations, violence risk assessments, and evaluations of learning and attention disorders in children. Common treatment issues addressed in therapy include mood disorders, relationship problems, trauma, and personality disorders. Postdoctoral fellows receive ample individual and group supervision. The fellowship program fulfills the post-doctoral supervision requirements for psychology licensure in the state of Missouri. Fellows also participate in didactic training experiences and assessment case conferences at UM-St. Louis.

Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility, Rushville, IL, USA - 3 Fellowship positions (Forensic Psychology)

Liberty Healthcare in coordination with the Illinois Department of Human Services-Treatment & Detention Facility is offering three Postdoctoral Fellowship positions specializing in Sex Offender Treatment. This one-year Forensic Psychology training will offer the selected candidates the opportunity to participate in intensive sex offender-specific group therapy with an experienced co-therapist. During this treatment-intensive training, the Fellows will function as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing psychological testing and report writing; treatment planning; as well as, group and individual treatment. The Fellow will participate in weekly training provided in multiple formats including case conferencing, multidisciplinary treatment plan staffing, staff trainings and didactic seminars. Two licensed psychologists will provide supervision to the Fellow.
Population Served: The SVP Treatment and Detention Facility is a secure residential treatment facility providing services to individuals, who have been civilly committed under the Illinois Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act and remanded to the custody of the Department of Human Services for treatment. Liberty Healthcare’s program offers a full range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services for sexually deviant behavior, mental disorders and chemical dependency. An integrated interdisciplinary team of Liberty professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, substance abuse counselors and recreation therapists, who work closely with state-employed security and paraprofessional staff to deliver a consistent, humane treatment program, staffs the facility.
The purpose of the Fellowship experience is to provide the environment and opportunity for the Fellow to apply theoretical knowledge; to implement and develop clinical techniques based on this knowledge; and to foster the professional and personal attitudes important to the identity of a professional psychologist. Evaluation of the Fellow’s progress in clinical training focuses on three areas: theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional attitudes.
Post-Doctoral Fellow will perform comprehensive evaluations, including a psychiatric assessment, on all admissions to the TDF. Based on the evaluation, the professional staff creates an individualized plan of treatment that may include psychopharmacology, individual and group counseling, psychoeducational programs, behavior management, psychosocial rehabilitation, and other modalities. Post-doctoral Fellow will also supervise the assessment and report writing aspect of the Pre-doctoral interns with the guidance of the Director of Training and Research.
Ethical standards of the State of Illinois, the Department of Human Services, Liberty Healthcare, the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) are incorporated into the Fellow’s training.

Massachusetts Treatment Center, Bridgewater, MA, USA - 1 Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in Sex Offender Treatment & Assessment
The Massachusetts Treatment Center is a medium-security prison located within the Bridgewater Correctional Complex and is a unique facility due to having a population of civilly committed Sexually Dangerous Persons as well as state prison inmates identified as sexual offenders. The Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) is a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment utilizing the concepts of the Risk-Need-Responsivity model and the Revised Self-Regulation Model (SRM-R) of Sexual Offending. The SRM-R integrates the Good Lives and Self-Regulation models.
The MTC Fellowship is a 1-year, full-time position. Fellows are required to work 40 hours per week and will be provided with at least 2.5 hours of supervision per week by licensed psychologists. By the end of the fellowship year, fellows will have completed 2,000 training hours. Depending on the track selected by the fellow, as well as the fellow’s clinical interests, the fellow will be involved in the direct provision of forensic/correctional psychological services for 25% to 45% of the fellow’s training hours. Fellows will also attend two weekly didactic seminars. The forensic seminar is dedicated to relevant case law and legal statutes. The second didactic seminar covers a variety of psychological topics.
Fellows can select from three tracks for their fellowship training: Treatment, Assessment, or Combined Track. Fellows will be asked to select a specific track during the application process.

The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, ON, 1 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Pediatric Health-Clinical Psychology
Position: Temporary Fixed-Term (0.8 - 1.0 FTE). This two-year Pediatric Health-Clinical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship is available beginning September 2013. The second year is dependent on successful completion of year one goals.
Setting: The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country.
Description: The post-doctoral research fellow will work on a) a grant-funded research project with children who survive brain tumors and their parents, investigating social information processing, its relation to social behavior and adjustment, and the impact of medical, demographic and social contextual factors on social information processing, social behavior and adjustment; and b) a clinical practice addressing the psychological impact of cancer diagnosis on the target child and his/her family, under the supervision of a senior registered psychologist.
The post-doctoral fellow will contact parents of potential participants, explain the purpose of the study and obtain consent; conduct home visits with another research staff to administer standardized psychological measures and questionnaires to children and parents; video tape social interactions; conduct school assessment visits with another research staff; review medical records; organize study procedures; develop/monitor timelines for study; assist with REB process; and assist in other research related activities.

Penn State Hershey’s Department of Psychiatry, Hershey, PA, USA - 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Division of Autism at Penn State Hershey’s Department of Psychiatry is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the team. The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to an ongoing Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare-funded project, the Autism Services, Education, Resources, and Training (ASERT) Collaborative. The ASERT Collaborative is a partnership of medical centers, centers of autism research and services, universities and other providers that aim to connect existing resources and pockets of expertise and address the regional gaps in effective services and supports.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be based at the Central ASERT Collaborative at Penn State Hershey. He/she will be instrumental in implementing applied clinical research, including projects examining efficacy of social skills programming for adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for direct patient care in an outpatient setting. This clinical work will include diagnostic/psychological assessments for adolescents and adults with ASD, as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adolescents and adults with comorbid anxiety and ASD.
The individual will be involved in mentoring/supervising research technicians, graduate students, and pre-doctoral psychology interns and will work with a multidisciplinary team including various mental health professionals (e.g., psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, social workers). The Postdoctoral Fellow will be based at the Central ASERT Collaborative at Penn State Hershey. He/she will be instrumental in implementing applied clinical research, including projects examining efficacy of social skills programming for adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for direct patient care in an outpatient setting. This clinical work will include diagnostic/psychological assessments for adolescents and adults with ASD, as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adolescents and adults with comorbid anxiety and ASD.
The individual will be involved in mentoring/supervising research technicians, graduate students, and pre-doctoral psychology interns and will work with a multidisciplinary team including various mental health professionals (e.g., psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, social workers). Length of position: 2 years. Education required: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology.

This postdoctoral position is a one-two year opportunity to participate in psychosocial research regarding the multiple influences of cognitive variables on the course, severity, and treatment of chronic pain, currently supported by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and the College of Arts &Sciences, The University of Alabama. Primary duties involve the day-to-day management of an on-going cognitive-behavioral research program for management of chronic pain in rural, low-SES minorities and non-minorities. We are also in the process of designing a pilot testing an MBSR intervention for restless leg syndrome, and the post-doc will be included in that project as well. The fellow will be expected to participate in grant writing and manuscript preparation (including dissemination at national conferences), and to assist with research supervision of graduate and select undergraduate students (vertical team approach). The fellow will work closely with Dr. Beverly Thorn in the execution of these duties and will have additional support from Dr. Joshua Eyer, a research scientist employed in the lab.
Candidates will have completed or be near completion of their Ph.D. from a doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology, including the completion of a predoctoral internship. Clinical research experience is expected in biopsychosocial interventions for health problems (broadly defined); data management and analysis experience; and publication(s) in refereed journal(s). The position will provide one year of clinical research hours suitable for licensure in most jurisdictions with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Fellows will also be immediately eligible for licensure, as the state of Alabama does not have a postdoctoral requirement for candidacy for licensure. The stipend is $35,000 for one calendar year with the status of temporary full-time employee, affording many of the benefits of faculty status. Fellows are eligible for standard faculty health benefits through BCBS of Alabama.

RiverRidge Neurorehabilitation Center, Kennebunk, Maine, USA - 1 Post Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology
RiverRidge Neurorehabilitation Center, is seeking qualified candidates for 2013-2015 Neuropsychological Fellowship. Fellows will receive a variety of in-depth training experiences in the areas of assessment, treatment, consultation, training and professional presentations. In addition, the fellow will participate in nationally recognized curriculum in order to qualify for certification as a Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS)
Assessment experiences will include screening and comprehensive evaluations for persons with acquired brain injury (e.g. TBI, CVA, anoxia, neoplasm, seizure disorders) or progressive conditions (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s) through both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Fellows will participate as members of both an interdisciplinary inpatient program and a transdisciplinary outpatient program. Treatment modalities include brief counseling, family support and education, cognitive remediation and behavioral management.
Neuropsychology provides consultative services at RiverRidge and throughout 10 other Genesis Centers in Maine. Referrals range from cognitive screening examinations to behavioral management and staff training.
Within the Genesis system, Neuropsychology is the recognized expert in the cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injury. As such, we are often called upon to provide staff trainings on brain/behavior relationships, the role of the therapeutic relationship in rehabilitation and strategies for assisting distressed family members. We also attend and present at local and regional conferences.
Fellows will work closely with the Director of Brain Injury Services and a team of experienced rehabilitation professionals. The fellow will be immersed in the various roles for which Neuropsychology is utilized including facility leadership, program development, consultation, training, and treating clinician.
RiverRidge is part of Genesis Healthcare and is the only CARF-accredited skilled nursing facility on the East Coast specializing in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. RiverRidge holds three CARF accreditations for programs in Inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Outpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Residential Care for survivors of Acquired Brain Injury. Neuropsychological services support all three programs.

The Massachusetts Treatment Center medium-security prison, Bridgewater, MA, USA - 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Forensic Psychology
We have received funding for one additional position for a postdoctoral fellow for the 2013-2014 training year.
The Massachusetts Treatment Center is a medium-security prison located within the Bridgewater Correctional Complex and is a unique facility due to having a population of civilly committed Sexually Dangerous Persons as well as state prison inmates identified as sexual offenders. Each population is located within separate areas of the facility.
The MTC Fellowship is a 1-year, full-time position. Fellows are required to work 40 hours per week and will be provided with at least 2.5 hours of supervision per week by licensed psychologists. By the end of the fellowship year, fellows will have completed 2,000 training hours. Depending on the track selected by the fellow, as well as the fellow’s clinical interests, the fellow will be involved in the direct provision of forensic/correctional psychological services for 25% to 45% of the fellow’s training hours. Fellows will also attend two weekly didactic seminars. The forensic seminar is dedicated to relevant case law and legal statutes.

Position Description: This position is designed to train individuals seeking to work with a variety of psychological and neurological clients. Patients are referred by doctors and neurologists. Opportunity exists to work with children, adolescents, young adults, families, and foster/adopted families. Experiences would include psychological and neuropsychological testing, evidence-based therapies (PCIT, TF-CBT), play therapy, individual/group/family therapy, Reactive Attachment Disorder Intensives, qEEG and neurofeedback training, and vision and cognitive rehabilitation therapy.
